Monthly inventory of US electric generators — operating, planned, retired and cancelled — reported by plant operators to the Energy Information Administration. Includes battery storage with nameplate power and, for some units, energy capacity in MWh. It is operator-reported inventory, not verified evidence, and it is preliminary: figures are revised in later editions.
In progress. We hold a technology-filtered extract only: 1,659 battery-storage plants from the June 2026 edition, grouped by plant with per-unit lifecycle states. That is one technology out of the inventory this entry describes, so it is not published as this dataset. Building the full inventory means re-reading the monthly workbook without the battery filter.
